Ergonomics - our focus is on the computer mouse |

Contour Design - leading in ergonomic pointing devices
Ergonomics is a wide subject area. Here we explain mostly about what we offer.
About Ergonomics: a lengthy process
Ergonomics is not a new thing. The first studies of the effect of the workplace on the body date back to the early 17th century. Still, we have a long way to go before all office workplaces are optimised in terms of ergonomics. As more and more of us spend more time in front of the computer, so too grows the need for ergonomically correct equipment that does not place an unnecessary strain on our bodies.
Slaves at desks?
Think about the old factories and the monotonous work tasks and how it was discovered how bad it was (and still is) for the body to do the same thing all day. Modern production technology has created a better and more human process in the factory. But how about the office?
The knowledge worker in the office is now the new "slave of the machine" - having to spend long hours using input tools that were not designed to work well together. Why accept that?
Focusing on the mouse
At Contour Design, we have chosen to focus on ergonomic pointing devices – commonly referred to as the 'mouse'. Experts continue to debate whether or not mouse injuries should be considered a work injury. Meanwhile a great many of us are severely affected by daily demanding work tasks in front of the computer. Investing in an ergonomically correct mouse is a big step in the right direction when it comes to looking after your body.
Let us tell you more about how smooth and comfortable a mouse device can be.
Our position: We believe the mouse is an important part in good office ergonomics
But, of course, other factors such as ergonomic awareness, indoor climate, desks, chairs, lighting, planning of work tasks and the ability to take breaks are also important when it comes to providing optimal working conditions for your body.
